The Port of Tianjin suspended all operations after Tianjin issued red alerts for heavy air pollution.

SHANGHAI, Dec. 20 (SMM) – The Port of Tianjin suspended all operations after Tianjin issued red alerts for heavy air pollution.

More than 70 percent of imported manganese ore are via the the Port of Tianjin, and the suspension at the port will negatively affect ore supply in China’s domestic market. But the impact will be small as the suspension is not expected to be long, SMM predicts.

Many cities in China have activated red alerts for air pollution since last weekend, including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, etc.
